Bison parchment

Bison parchment or “rawhide” is strong and relatively stiff.

Parchment is dried skin, stripped of its hair. It is easy to work with when wet and shrinks again when dry. It is used for drums, lampshades, whips, lassos or as bones for dogs. It is more durable than regular leather, but on the other hand, it is more sensitive to moisture.

Large items of parchment, such as bison, can sometimes only be shipped by cutting them in half widthwise for shipping purposes. Please call Joop to discuss before ordering.
